Yes, you can work in jail. All jails however aren’t created equal so it varies as to whether you will be paid or not.

You can be paid 2 different ways depending on the jail. Jails can pay a good $1 to $2 an hour to do laundry or make license plates. If they do not pay you cash then they will lower your sentence instead.

Jails supply you with food but that also varies depending on the jail as to how good the meals are. Some jails are torturous on meals and feed you little to nothing. Some jails feed you very well but it all depends on the jail itself.
